Well, Christmas day and Boxing day have come and gone. Presents have been wrapped and unwrapped. Turkey has been prepared, stuffed, cooked and eaten. It’s been a lot of traveling recently. Firstly, it was up to Sal’s family – a nice journey up a rain soaked, salt infused M1, which resulted in a later than planned arrival but a great weekend was had by all. A quick overnight stay and a journey back down a traffic ridden, salt-infused, sodden M1 back down to Walsall for a small time for relaxing and unwinding before attempting to pack Christmas day in to freezer bags and cool boxes, ready to transport down the M5 to Yeovil and some time with my family. A relaxing and enjoyable Christmas day, with Sal being the perfect hostess and cook for the day. She’s a star.
A Christmas Day evening trip back up the M5 to home and a time of unwrapping ensued. Presents galore – some small, some big. Some silly, some needed. Wonderful friends & family. We are both very lucky and fortunate people.
Thursday was a day off and now today is back down the M5 to Hereford to see some more of Sal’s family. I will be meeting a celebrity today – I’m as intrigued as you are, dear reader!
Well, after all this – the weekend will arrive and it’ll be time to hit the shops after all the crowds have died down and I can find somewhere to park. I’ve had a fantastic Christmas this year. However, just a small part of me can’t help but feel I’ve somehow completely missed Christmas. It’s gone. I hardly noticed. My faith is a year round thing. I am constantly reminded about what this time of year signifies to Christians, I don’t just have to think about it on Dec 25th – so I don’t feel to bad on that front. I’ve spent lots of time with friends and family. I’ve been reminded of how valued these friends are, both in times of socialising together and by the exchanging of gifts. I am very lucky. Maybe I haven’t missed the meaning of Christmas after all. I’ve reflected on people in my life, how much I value them and don’t tell them often enough. I’ve spent time reflecting on my faith. Actually, it’s been a good Christmas. I’ve a lot to be thankful for. I should tell people how much I value it more often.
Happy Christmas x

Glad to hear you’ve had a good Christmas, ours was really nice until Jan 2nd when Steph got a chest infection and I caught the cold that caused it!
