Last night, I had Glenn Tilbrook, Antonio Forcione and Dave Goodman in the back of my car. I guess I should probably explain why.
Part of my job working for Yamaha involves being involved with and attending gigs and showcases that feature our instruments and endorsee’s. Last night, in Cardiff, was one of the best I’ve seen.
I’ve seen Dave play before in Germany, but he never fails to impress me. I’ve heard of Antonio before too, but never really explored his material or seen him play live. Put simply? Absolutely stunning – I can’t think of any other words that will do him justice. Amazing feel, great showman and one of the most incredible techniques I’ve ever seen. The real treat of the evening for me however was seeing Glenn Tilbrook. His general songsmithery is always something special to experience. So hearing some old Sqeeze classics mixed in with his more recent solo material made for a fantastic evening.
Anyway, back to the car. I gave them a lift to the after show curry last night. Always a slightly bizarre feeling when you get to look to the passenger seat and see someone sitting there that you’ve seen over many years on TV and heard on the radio. All three of them were entertaining, sociable and thoroughly amazing performers.
I like my job.

Nice work Mr J!
